For tier one sponsorship purposes under the Refugee Family Support Category, a sponsor will be considered to be the sole carer of a dependent relative or relatives in New Zealand if they have the primary responsibility for the day to day care of a dependent relative or relatives in New Zealand, on an ongoing basis.
