If you are in New Zealand and you commit certain acts, you may become liable for deportation from New Zealand. We will send you a deportation liability notice, unless you are in New Zealand unlawfully.
You may be deported from New Zealand for a number of reasons, including but not limited to, if you:
- stay in New Zealand unlawfully (i.e. beyond the expiry date of your visa)
- breach the conditions of your visa
- commit a criminal offence
- obtain a residence class visa through fraud, forgery, false or misleading representation
If you are in New Zealand unlawfully, we recommend that you voluntarily leave New Zealand.
