You need to show you have the potential to settle in New Zealand and make a contribution to life here. In some cases we will assess this by conducting an interview with you covering your employment prospects, your familiarity with New Zealand and the support you are likely to have here.
If you do not currently have, or have an offer of, skilled employment in New Zealand, we may still approve your residence application if you have a high potential to readily obtain skilled employment. In this case, we will regard you as having shown that you can successfully settle in and contribute to New Zealand.
