For us to consider you to be self-employed you must be actively involved with the management and operation of a business that you've established or purchased, or in which you hold at least 25 percent ownership. 

In terms of the Skilled Migrant Category, the aim of providing points for skilled employment will not be met by a person undertaking employment in their own business (see SM7).
