Section 49(1) of the Immigration Act 2009

Under section 49(1) of the Immigration Act 2009, every visa (other than a permanent resident visa) may be subject to conditions as specified in Immigration Instructions.   

 

For example, resident visas may be subject to the condition that the holder remain in employment, or keep funds invested in New Zealand for a set period of time.
