Recognised qualification

Under the Skilled Migrant Category principal applicants are eligible for:

 

55 points for a qualification assessed as level nine or ten on the New Zealand Register of Quality Assured Qualifications (the Register).

 

50 points for a qualification assessed as level five, six, seven, or eight on the Register.

 

50 points for a qualification assessed as level four on the Register, if:

  • the qualification is relevant to an occupation listed at part B or part C of the List of Skilled Occupations held at Appendix 11; and
  • the qualification is a New Zealand National Certificate (or compared to a New Zealand National Certificate by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority ).

 

All other qualifications that are assessed as level four on the Register are excluded from recognition under the Skilled Migrant Category.

 

50 points for a qualification assessed as level three on the Register if the qualification is included in the list of Qualifications Recognised as an Exception held at Appendix 13.

 

You can find out if your qualification is recognised by looking at the List of Recognised Qualifications.

 

If it isn't, you may request the New Zealand Qualifications Authority to assess your qualification.
