Offer of employment

Skilled Migrant:
This is a job offer from a New Zealand employer made specifically to you.  We will need to see evidence such as the letter from the employer offering you the position.

 

Working to residence:
To be acceptable, an offer of employment must include:

  • the employer’s name, address and contact details
  • your name and address
  • a full job description and person specification, covering:
    •  the job title or designation
    • the address of the place of employment
    • the type of work, duties and responsibilities of the job
    • details of the pay and conditions of employment, such as sick or holiday leave
    • qualifications and experience requirements
    • confirmation of whether or not registration in New Zealand is required
  • the duration of the job
  • how long the job offer is open for.

 

Essential Work:

All offers of employment must be genuine and sustainable. Unless specifically stated otherwise all offers of employment should contain the following information:

 

  • name, address, telephone and/or fax number of the employer; and
  • name and address of the person to whom the job is offered; and
  • a full job description including:
    • the job title or designation; and
    • the address of the place of employment if different from that in paragraph (a) above; and
    • the type of work, duties and responsibilities involved; and
    • details of pay and conditions of employment; and
    • any qualifications, experience or training required; and
    • the duration of the job; and
    • how long the job offer is open.

The offer must meet the requirements of New Zealand employment laws.
