To determine whether your application for a visa or a permit is genuine, we’ll consider:
- all the evidence you supply to us to show that you’re coming to New Zealand with genuine intent and for a lawful purpose
and
- any relevant information we may hold from any previous applications you may have made. This may include:
- whether you’ve previously overstayed
- whether you’ve previously broken any visa or permit conditions
- whether you have dependants who are unlawfully in New Zealand
and
- your personal circumstances such as:
- the strength of any family ties in your home country and New Zealand
- the nature of any personal, financial, employment or other commitments you have in your home country and New Zealand
- any circumstances that may discourage you from returning to your home country when your permit expires.
